## 1. Introduction and Definitions
Welcome to Plink ("the Platform", "we", "us", "our"), accessible at plink.chat and operated by Plink. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
**Definitions:**
- **User** — any person who accesses the Platform.
- **Account Holder** — a User who has registered an account.
- **Plate Owner** — an Account Holder who has claimed a vehicle licence plate.
- **Service Provider** — a business approved by Plink to offer services redeemable via vouchers.
- **Plink Credits** — platform credits used to purchase service vouchers.
- **Voucher** — a service voucher issued to a recipient, redeemable with an approved Service Provider.
## 2. About Plink
Plink is a privacy-first, consent-based platform that enables vehicle owners to voluntarily create a public profile linked to their licence plate. Plink is **not** an official vehicle registry. Plink does **not** connect to any government vehicle database. Plink does **not** reveal private ownership information without the plate owner's explicit consent.
## 3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By registering, you warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use at legal@plink.chat.
## 4. Plate Claims
By claiming a licence plate, you confirm that you are the registered owner of, or are lawfully authorised to manage, the vehicle bearing that plate. You accept full responsibility for the accuracy of this statement. Plink reserves the right to remove any plate claim that is disputed or found to be made in bad faith. Making a false claim may result in immediate account suspension and may constitute fraud under applicable law.
## 5. User Content and Public Profiles
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform. By submitting content, you grant Plink a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform. You are solely responsible for ensuring that content you publish does not infringe third-party rights, violate applicable law, or breach these Terms.
## 6. Plink Credits
Plink Credits ("Credits") are non-transferable platform credits that may be purchased and used to send service vouchers. Credits are not legal tender, have no cash value, and may not be redeemed for cash except in limited circumstances at Plink's sole discretion. Credits expire only if explicitly stated in a promotional offer. Credits purchased with real money may be eligible for a partial refund within 14 days of purchase if unused, subject to Plink's Refund Policy. All Credit purchases are final once a voucher has been created.
## 7. Service Vouchers
Vouchers are valid only for the service type specified. Vouchers must be redeemed with an approved Plink Service Provider. Plink acts as a payment intermediary; the service contract is between the voucher recipient and the Service Provider. Plink does not guarantee the availability of any specific provider or service. Expired or cancelled vouchers are not eligible for refund unless required by applicable consumer law.
## 8. Service Provider Terms
Service Providers agree to honour all valid Plink vouchers presented to them. Service Providers receive payment in Credits net of Plink's commission (currently 10%), credited to their provider wallet upon successful voucher redemption. Settlement to a nominated bank account is subject to a minimum threshold and hold period. Plink may suspend or terminate Service Provider access for non-compliance with these Terms or for failure to honour vouchers.
## 9. Messaging
The messaging feature allows Users to send messages to Plate Owners who have enabled this function. Messages must not contain threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful content. Plink may review messages for abuse but does not monitor private communications as a matter of routine. Misuse of the messaging system will result in suspension or termination of your account.
## 10. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Attempt to identify the private owner of a vehicle without their consent.
- Harvest, scrape or systematically collect data from the Platform.
- Upload malicious code, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or interfere with Platform security.
- Impersonate any person or entity or make false claims of authority.
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent any Platform security measures.
## 11. Intellectual Property
All Platform software, design, trademarks and content created by Plink are the intellectual property of Plink and may not be reproduced without written permission. Your content remains yours; you grant us only the limited licence described in Section 5.
## 12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Plink does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses. Plink does not verify the accuracy of user-submitted content.
## 13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Plink's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Plink in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £50 / €50. Plink shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages.
## 14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Plink and its officers, directors and employees from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your user content, or your use of the Platform.
## 15. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Plink may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your public plate profiles are removed. Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.
## 16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by English law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that if you are a consumer resident in another jurisdiction you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
## 17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
